Secure Authentication With One-Time Passwords

Confident ImageShield™ is a web authentication technology that creates one-time passwords and PINs by prompting users to identify which pictures fit their previously-chosen authentication categories. It provides strong authentication and one-time passwords for enterprise-level websites and web applications without the need for authentication hardware tokens, smart cards or biometrics.

How it Works:

1. The first time a user registers, they select a few authentication categories they can easily remember – such as people, flowers and clocks.

2. When authentication is required the user is presented with a randomly-generated grid of images – the Confident ImageShield.

3. The user identifies which images fit their previously-chosen categories by typing or clicking on the correct images to form a one-time password or PIN.

The pictures that appear on the grid and their alphanumeric characters are different each time. In this way, Confident ImageShield forms a unique, one-time password each time authentication is required.
