Two-Factor Authentication Using Images
Confident Multifactor Authentication™ is an image-based, two-factor authentication technology that generates one-time passwords and PINs by prompting users to identify which images fit into their previously chosen authentication categories. An image-based authentication challenge is delivered to the user's smartphone through the use of a mobile application on the phone or a secure URL accessed in the mobile web browser.
By correctly identifying the pictures that match their authentication categories, the user is assembling and submitting a one-time password or PIN.
The authentication process remains out-of-band from the web session.
